Your Problem
Isn’t the Problem
Your REACTION
Is the PROBLEM.
This insightful message in a epigrammatic style is a gentle reminder of who is the cause for our problems.
Life means different types of experiences, situations, circumstances. It can never be a bed of roses .How we handle them lies in our reactions and responses. Reactions are negative and responses are positive.
Reaction has its root in the ego . It will create anger, hatred , envy , greed, inferiority complex, pride , according to the type of problems and our mental attitude. These impacts could range from subtle to the extreme level . For example: The situations at home . Relationship between parents , children, and all types of in-law problems.A parent may advise the child and if he takes it in the positive mindset then it is a response. But if he shouts and and creates a mess , it is a reaction. Vice Versa too . Husband and wife problems and other problems in relationships are all because of our ego. It is only our reaction. One reaction causes another and it unceasing-chain reaction. But if we are able to respond, using our intelligence and balance of mind then it can be sorted out easily. It requires a positive outlook, balance of mind and an understanding that we are all creations of God with godliness in us .
It is possible for each one of us . That is why disciplining of mind becomes essential from a very young age .This is where spiritual practices help. Sittha Viruthi Yoga emphasises these principles with great clarity and understanding.
Let us try to respond to life and gradually discard our ego .In such a case love peace and joy is ours , whatever may be the problem
